Chemical Peels

Chemical Peels

A chemical peel is best used on patients with acne, facial lines, freckles,  and irregular skin pigmentation.

Chemical solutions are carefully applied to your skin to improve the texture by removing the damaged outer layers of your face.  There are three different degrees of strengths of a chemical peel: Light, Medium, and Deep.  Obviously, the greater the depth of penetration of the chemical solution on the dermis, the deeper the peel and the more extensive the recovery period.

The light chemical peel removes the outer layer of the epidermis in a light exfoliation and results in a heathier glow.   The mediums strength Chemical Peel treats the outer layer of skin (epidermis and upper part of the middle layers of skin (dermis), while the Deep Peel penetrates down to the lower dermal layer of your skin.  The Deep Peel usually requires some type of sedation.

With a Medium Peel it takes approximately 3 days for the skin to peel , while a Deep Peel takes approximately 5-7 days for the skin to peel.   Both peels then take a few weeks for the redness to fade resulting in glowing new skin.
