Dr. Joseph Mazza has had a passion for helping others, especially in underserved areas. This passion is shared by his supportive staff. Together, they annually work with two organizations – HELPS International and Cascade Medical Team.
Our 2019 Mission Trip
HELPS International works “to transform lives and make a positive impact: children are reading, people are walking again, women are breathing freely, clean water is accessible and families have the resources they need. We’re helping to transform families, communities, a country and even a region.”
The Cascade Medical Team mission is “providing free healthcare and health education, where medical services are severely lacking along with supporting community development projects to the impoverished population in the Highlands of Guatemala. Our passion is changing lives.”

In working with these organizations, Dr. Mazza and his staff also provide services to adults. He performs hernia repairs, cleft lip and palate repair, hand reconstruction, and more.

Cleft Lip & Palate

Dr. Joseph Mazza is the director of the Children’s Medical Services (CMS) clinic here in Southwest Florida. This clinic specializes in meeting the needs of patients with cranial facial deformities, including cleft lip and palate. Dr. Mazza was inspired by the procedure of cleft lip and palate while in medical school and has been passionate about the procedure and the patients with the deformity ever since.
Dr. Mazza works with the CMS team to coordinate surgery and care for patients with a cleft lip and/or palate. Dr. Mazza also works with children outside of the CMS clinic (private insurance). This procedure is to correct the cranial facial deformity that a child may have. Multiple procedures are sometimes needed. He has been doing this procedure for over 30 years.
